Why has heroin addiction made a comeback eventhough the use of the illegal drug can cause or lead to AIDS or HIV...

Heroin addiction, has become out of control in my neighborhood. Children as young as 13 years old are becoming victims to this drug. Its very easy to get and cheap. The needle exchange programs, makes users feel safe from getting infections and deceases. Also I see a lot of methadone clinics a free high, when users can't pay for the drug.

I have seen my xbest friend who had a great paying job as an accountant fall victim to this drug and lost everything even her child. She did a nine month program, has a section 8 voucher, does the methadone program. Though she still uses and steals from who ever she can. I have seen young teenage girls, nodding out in school, and having bad reputations to pay for their habit. I've seen good educated kids, with bright futures secretly addicted and committing crimes to pay for their habit.

This drug is out of control along with cocaine, it is a serous problem!

Your right this drug will destroy lives. I like to call heroin a silent thief because it takes a while to destroy a person and the things they love. For example fours ago this coming saturday august 16, 2008 I saved someones life from a heroin overdose. Moreover, he was a man in his early fifties had been using the drug since he was 13 years old. To end heroin addiction can be hidden from everyone or person if you are not educated about the drug itself or it's use. Chow! Nice Hub!
