Saving our Children

Family is the most important part in a person's life. Unfortunately the truth about togetherness has been lost. Today people are learning to care about themselves, to do what ever it takes to get what they want. The struggle to earn more Money has taken a big role in today's families. Children are left to raise themselves as parents go out to work. Most of Americas children are being raised on the streets. Children struggle daily with surviving to fit in or to stay alive.

When war hits home, we take a good look around our world at home. What really matters to us? Its not all the material things we now own! They become worthless. As parents our first thought is, were are my children!

What are your children doing while your at work or away from home? Are they hanging in the streets? Children are more into drugs and alcohol then they have been before. Children are dropping out of school at earlier ages and young girls are having babies are younger and younger ages. Public schools no longer educate on drugs and aids awareness. It has become the parents responsibility to educate our children on the dangers of drugs, alcohol and sexual transmitted diseases. Not to mention the rising dangers of gangs forming all over, the use of illegal handguns. People need to wake up and take control of the young people we are responsible for. We need to find safe alternative programs for children of all ages. A lot of states cut programs for kids when the child turns fourteen years old. This is the age when they are more likely to join a gang and start using drugs. Children need to know that their health and education is extremely important. Look at your child closely, are they happy? Do they feel comfortable and safe in their own home? Think about what can you do to make your child's room more comfortable for them. You need to spend time with your child wither you have one child or ten. Set aside a time to spend with that child and talk, find out what is going on in their lives. What is it that they would like to accomplish as a young adult. What our their interest?, then look around your community to find outlet programs that will inspire their interests. Children need structured time, at all ages. They are less likely to get into trouble if they have programs and organized places of interest available to them. Start by looking at your cities youth programs, do they have anything available your child may be interested in. If you cant find anything in your city, create one!

There is always a church that is willing to donate space, there is always parents or students that are willing to volunteer their time. Lets start saving our children's lives! Get them off the streets, away from gangs, drugs and violence. We as parents are responsible for what our children become as adults.
